Wednesday is National Puppy Day, a special occasion to celebrate little pups, according to nationalpuppyday.com.
The website stated National Puppy Day is a day to help save orphaned puppies across the world and educate the public about puppy mills.
National Puppy Day began in 2006 and was created by Celebrity Pet & Home Lifestyle Expert and author Colleen Paige, according to the website. Paige is also the founder of National Dog Day and National Cat Day.
NationalPuppyDay.com said the day is actually considered an international holiday and has trended on Twitter since 2012.
