17-year-old girl shot and killed in Lorain late Thursday night

LORAIN, Ohio — Lorain police are investigating the shooting death of a 17-year-old girl that happened late Thursday night.

Police said they were called to a report of shots fired in the area of West 25th and Kelly Place around 11:15 p.m. Thursday. While en route to the area, police were called by a 19-year-old man reporting his friend was shot.

Police located that man driving a Jeep and stopped him in the area of the 800 block of West 21st, where Lorain police said the victim was pronounced deceased in the passenger seat.

Lorain police said they have identified several persons of interest and are working to interview those people.
