12 people arrested in undercover prostitution and human trafficking operation in Summit County

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — The Summit County Sheriff's Office arrested 12 people as part of an investigation into a possible prostitution and human trafficking operation at an undisclosed hotel in Summit County, according to a news release.

On Sept. 23, the sheriff's office, along with the Copley Police Department and the Cuyahoga Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, arrested 12 people from throughout Northeast Ohio.

The investigation included undercover operations where individuals were contacted through websites advertising sexual services.

Some of the charges issued include: soliciting, possession of methamphetamine and promoting prostitution.
