AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating after a 54-year-old man reported that he was robbed by two people at an ATM and was forced to drive them to local sandwich chain to eat.
According to authorities, the robbery happened on Tuesday around 5 p.m. near Diagonal Road and South Hawkins Avenue.
After taking money out of the ATM, the man got back in his truck and was confronted by a man and a woman who jumped in after him, authorities said.
The female robber pulled out a handgun, threatened the man and then ordered him to drive to the fast food restaurant so the robbers could get sandwiches, according to authorities. The victim went to the drive-thru and the robbers ordered two subs.
Afterward, the woman ordered the man to drive to Akron's West Side near Courtland and Orlando avenues.
When they arrived, the male robber assaulted the victim and took his wallet, phone and keys, authorities said.
