AKRON, Ohio — Thousands of runners will take to the streets this weekend for the Akron Children’s Hospital Akron Marathon Race Series. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Weather Alert
The race is under a weather alert due to warm temperatures. If the current forecast remains, temperatures at the start of the race will be in the high 60s and are expected to reach the high 70s for the majority of the race. Temps could reach as high as 85 degrees for the last two hours of the race.
Road Closures
Starting on Friday, Sept. 27, roads across Akron will be closed for the race. Find all the closures here.
Race Course
Runners will begin at the historic grounds of Stan Hywet & Gardens before going on a foot tour throughout Akron, including West Akron, crossing the iconic All-America bridge and into the Firestone Park neighborhoods before returning downtown on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, where runners will finish at Canal Park Stadium.
