AKRON, Ohio — An Akron woman who stabbed her boyfriend in the summer of 2017 has pleaded guilty to charges connected with his death.
Crystal Bruce, 34, pleaded guilty to manslaughter, tampering with evidence and illegal cultivation of marijuana.
According to the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, Bruce stabbed Shawn Belville in the chest then cleaned up the crime scene and hid the knife. The two had been living together at the time.
Authorities said the stabbing followed a verbal altercation Bruce had with Belville.
Bruce is scheduled to appear in court on May 20 for sentencing.
