AKRON, Ohio — Four children were arrested Thursday afternoon after they allegedly robbed a man using a paintball gun, according to the Akron Police Department.
Around 1:15 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Moeller Avenue after receiving a call for a robbery in progress, police said.
The victim of the robbery told officers he was walking near Lane Field Park when four children approached him and robbed him at gunpoint, according to police.
Officers observed the children running through the park and were able to quickly take three of them into custody, police said.
The child who had the gun continued running from police but was stopped at a wooded area by the park and also taken into custody, according to police.
While searching the scene, officers found the gun the children used in the robbery and discovered it was a paintball gun, police said.
All four children were arrested for aggravated robbery.
The children arrested ranged in age from 11-years-old to 13-years-old, according to police.
