AKRON, Ohio — Four people were displaced from their home on Christmas Day after a fire that occurred in Akron, according to the Akron Police Department.
Authorities received calls about a house fire that had broken out in the 800 block of Sheridan Avenue around 11:46 p.m Friday.
Fire crews arrived and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the home, police said.
As a result of the fire, multiple rooms and floors were damaged and four residents were displaced from the home, according to police.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist as many of the residents’ personal items were damaged in the fire, police said.
