AKRON, Ohio — A 70-year-old woman who was exiting her car in a store parking lot was robbed in broad daylight in Akron over the weekend, according to Akron police.
On Friday, officers responded to the 300 block of East Waterloo Road for a robbery at around 11:15 a.m.
A 70-year-old woman was getting out of her car when she was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her purse from the front seat.
As the robber fled to his car, the woman attempted to chase him down, trying to get her purse back. When she asked him for the wallet, he pushed her down before fleeing the lot in a 4-door silver Toyota, according to the report.
The woman was taken to Summa Akron City Hospital for treatment.
