79-year-old woman lucky to be alive after stray bullets hit her car, graze her head

AKRON, Ohio — A 79-year-old woman was grazed in the head by a stray bullet Monday following a shootout between two nearby cars.

Witnesses told officers that around 3 p.m., two vehicles were shooting at each other near West Crosier and Princeton streets, authorities said. Stray bullets hit the woman and her car.

Following the shooting, the other cars drove off. One of the vehicles was described as a gold Chevrolet sedan. A more specific description wasn't provided.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, treated and released, authorities said.
