Akron detectives investigating fatal shooting of 18-year-old

Akron Detectives are investigating the death of an 18-year-old male that was found with a fatal gunshot wound.

According to detectives, the shooting occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Snyder Street. Officers on scene found the 18-year-old in the back yard of a residence, where the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct the autopsy and the Akron Police Department will handle the investigation.

At this time no suspects have been identified.
