A casual drink at an Akron bar turned violent after one man pulled a gun on his friend and robbed him.

According to police, 37-year-old Eddie Lee Smith Jr. left the bar on Newston Street at around 9 p.m. Wednesday after getting into an argument with his friend. The two men got into Smith's car to leave.

While behind the wheel, Smith pulled a gun out from under driver's seat and robbed his "friend" of $400.

Smith took the money, threw the wallet back, stopped the car and ordered the man to get out.

About five hours later, Smith was pulled over for a traffic violation near the intersection of Johnston and Black streets. Officers found a loaded .38 revolver and an open bottle of Wild Irish Rose wine.

Smith was booked into Summit County Jail.
