An Akron man was sentenced to serve life in prison for beating a homeless man to death over a pair of hair clippers.
Edgardo Cheverez, 26, of Akron, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and will be eligible for parole after 25 years after prosecutors said he beat Antwaun Smith to death with a tree limb while Smith was asleep on a park bench.
Cheverez, also known to be homeless, had been arguing with Smith over a pair of hair clippers, prosecutors said.
Cheverez was arrested after he was spotted walking in the area with blood on his clothes, said prosecutors.
