AKRON, Ohio - A teen looking to score some weed Thursday night ended up in the hospital after he accidentally shot himself during a robbery and was then shot several more times by his intended victim, according to Akron police.
The shooting happened just before midnight near Russell Avenue and Oberlin Street.
Authorities said Amir Peak, 18, of Akron, attempted to rob two other males during a drug deal involving two pounds of marijuana.
Police said Peak pulled a handgun from his waistband and accidentally shot himself once in the leg. Peak was then allegedly shot again by 19-year-old Aljuwon Eiland-Sims of Streetsboro.
Peak was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and issued a warrant for aggravated robbery and felonious assault.
Sims was also charged with felonious assault.
Authorities didn't say if any drugs were recovered during the arrests.
