Akron police responding to a heroin overdose overnight ended up busting a marijuana grow operation.
Officers were called around 9 p.m. to a home in the 200 block of Pioneer Street in the Goodyear Heights neighborhood for a report of an overdose.
Police and paramedics were able to revive the man using narcan. He was transported to a local hospital.
While at the home, police discovered a large marijuana grow operation in the basement of the home.
Police carried roughly 100 plants in various stages of growth out of the basement and placed them in a pile on the front yard around midnight. Confiscated grow equipment included lights, fans, air filters and other electronics.
No information about arrests or charges have been released.
