Akron police are investigating an early morning homicide at Channelwood Village.
Police said the victim was shot at the corner of West Thornton and Dunbar Avenue just after 2:45 a.m. Tuesday.
The victim, Najae Monique Jeffries, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police worked near the entrance of Channelwood Village to collect evidence until around 5:15 a.m. then moved into the apartment complex for more investigation.
An autopsy was completed and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head.
No suspect description has been released.
