Akron police are working to piece together a home invasion that occurred on Jason Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police responded to the apartment building at the dead end of Jason Avenue along the westbound Kenmore Leg of I-76 for a report of someone trying to break into one of the units.

As officers arrived, they heard a gun shot in the area and immediately set a perimeter and called for backup.

The suspects were never located.

One person inside the apartment emerged with a minor injury around 3 a.m.

Police said the victim was treated at the scene and taken into custody but did not release why the victim was being detained.

Detectives took a number of people back to their headquarters to be interviewed.

Police were still at the apartment at 5 a.m. Thursday.
