AKRON — An Akron man was shot in the leg Wednesday afternoon while sitting in his car at a car wash on the city’s West Side.
The shooting happened around 1 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Hawkins Avenue.
Police said the 20-year-old victim was inside his car when shots rang out. He ducked down and drove off but was shot in the leg.
The man drove to a family member's house and was then transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital. His injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.
Authorities were unable to provide a specific description of the shooters.
