The Akron Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man.
The shooting happened in broad daylight at 2:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Courtland Avenue and Seward Avenue, in front of Aquae Park.
Police say the victim and another male appeared to been the victims of an armed robbery . During the robbery the males struggled with the suspects. One suspect pulled out a handgun and fired several shots and then fled the scene in a silver car.
The victim was found on the street with several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene. The other male was not injured in the shooting.
Authorities are currently withholding the victim’s name pending positive identification from his family.
The suspects are described as three black males all wearing dark clothing and were last seen in a silver vehicle.
