AKRON, Ohio — Police responded Sunday at around 3:30 a.m. to the 200 block of East Lods Street to assist EMS with a medical emergency involving a 61-year-old man. The man was treated by EMS and transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center in critical condition, where he died hours later.
In its report, police said there had been a fight at the residence that involved a 50-year-old woman and the man.
The 50-year-old woman interfered with EMS and police officers several times while they responded to the medical emergency, the report stated.
She was arrested, transported to Summit County Jail and charged with obstructing official business and domestic violence.
Details surrounding the victim’s death remain under investigation, police said. The victim's name is being withheld pending an autopsy from the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
