Akron police arrested a student from Ellet High School on Monday for making terroristic threats.
Akron police and Akron Public Schools investigated a threat after the student reportedly sent Snapchat messages referring to a recent school shooting. He indicated that he was going to shoot up Ellet High School.
Several students and parents notified police and the suspect admitted to making the threats.
Akron Schools sent the following statement in relation to this matter:
We are prohibited---by federal privacy laws protecting students---from discussing any disciplinary measures involving individual cases.
