An Akron woman was charged Thursday after authorities discovered the body of a man in her hotel room near Cincinnati.
Kathryn Carmen, 34, of San Moritz Drive in Akron, was charged with abuse of a corpse.
Officers responded to a room at the Crosslands Hotel on Chester Road in Sharonville around 1 p.m. on June 14 to conduct a welfare check on the guests. According to authorities, Carmen admitted to officers that her friend had died from a heroin overdose a few days before but she never called the police.
Police said it appears the man had been dead since June 10.
Carmen was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 25.
Sharonville is located about 20 miles northeast of Cincinnati.
