Canton police are investigating the death of a 1-year-old girl.
Police say the girl died at Akron Children's Hospital on Saturday,
Fire officials responded to a home on 7th Street NW around 10:22 a.m. Friday for a report of a child having difficulty breathing.
The baby girl was transported to Mercy Medical Center and then taken to Akron Children's Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The police department is waiting for a ruling from the medical examiner regarding cause of death.
No additional details were immediately available.
