AKRON, Ohio — The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is planning to double its special rides out of Akron in 2020, according to News 5 media partner at Ohio.com.

Next year, seven trains will play host to 24 events out of Akron. This will mark the first time the railroad has offered Dinner on the Train excursions from the city. Seven dinner trains will depart from Akron, along with special event rides including the "Murder Mystery," "Grape Escape" and "Ales on Rails," which is exactly what you hope it is.

For the murder mystery rides, guests will climb aboard for a two-hour interactive ride where they will role-play suspects and detectives and discover clues along the way left at the crime scene. Everyone will get a chance to solve the crime and interact with professional actors. During each trip, the theme will change.

Joseph Mazur, CVSR's president and CEO, told Ohio.com that the additional train service is made possible in part thanks to an ongoing campaign to renovate and acquire more rail cars.
