The city of Akron started the new year off with a new mayor.
Daniel Horrigan took the oath of office at Greystone Hall in downtown Akron to become the 62nd Mayor of Akron.
Surrounded by his wife and children, Horrigan raised his right hand and accepted the oath administered by Judge Tom Teodosio. Former Mayor Jeff Fusco was also on hand and turned over the keys to the office, while offering the new mayor some words of advise.
