AKRON, Ohio - A former Akron high school basketball coach has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a female student during the 2015-2016 school year.

Jessica Saffold, 28, of Chagrin Falls, was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon.

According to authorities, Saffold became involved with a 16-year-old student while she was the girls' basketball coach at Firestone Community Learning Center.

Saffold was charged with sexual battery.
