A former University of Akron football player accidentally shot one of his ex-teammates after mistaking him for a burglar over the weekend.
According to newsnet5.com's media partner, the Akron Beacon Journal, receiver Andrew Pratt, 22, entered the apartment of former offensive tackle Scott Boyett, 23, without knocking or announcing himself around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Boyett, thinking Pratt was an intruder, shot his former teammate in the stomach.
Boyett took Pratt to Akron Children's Hospital for treatment. Pratt was then transferred to Akron General Medical Center in stable condition.
No charges will be filed because both parties agreed it was an accident, according to the Beacon Journal.
