The Akron Police Department is investigating after a 57-year-old man was found shot multiple times outside a convenience store on Thursday.
According to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office, the victim, identified as Dereke D. Alexander, was found around 5:30 p.m. on the 400 block of West Market Street. Alexander was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Police have not released any suspect information regarding the shooting.
Earlier this week, a 23-year-old man was found shot to death on a sidewalk on the 2300 block of West 14th Street SW.
Both incidents are under investigation.
