Akron firefighters battled a fire in a home along Bee Bee Circle just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to a release from the Akron Fire Department, they received multiple calls reporting people were trapped in the burning home. When the first units arrived they discovered a mother and daughter were outside uninjured.
Firefighters were able to bring the flames under control in about 15 minutes but the home suffered extensive damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
