NORTH CANTON, Ohio — A North Canton School resource officer went above and beyond the call of duty for a student on Friday.
Officer Mike Ataya of the North Canton Police Department works as a resource officer at North Canton Middle School. Over the last few weeks he has developed a friendship and special bond with one of the students at the school.
On Friday, Officer Ataya showed off his barber skills when he gave the boy a haircut after a slow and caring journey to earn the student’s trust.
The North Canton Police Department took to Facebook to thank Officer Ataya for his commitment to the community and the students at the school.
