A man is facing charges after he allegedly threw a crowbar at his girlfriend, accidentally hitting a toddler in the face.

The child's mother told police she was fighting with her boyfriend—29-year-old Jeremy Hosey—at their home on Hammel Street  around 6 a.m. Friday when things got physical.

According to the police report, when the woman picked up her 2-year-old son to keep her boyfriend from attacking her, he pushed them both out of the house and onto the back porch.

She told him to let them back in because her son didn't have clothes on.

Once the boy was dressed, the couple started arguing again. According to the police report, Hosey followed the woman and her son out of the house as she was trying to leave and threw a crowbar at her.

The crowbar missed the woman but struck her 2-year-old son in the face, police said.

The mother then grabbed a high heel shoe and hit Hosey in the head with it.

After the woman called police, Hosey allegedly locked himself in the house by himself. Police had to force their way into the home to arrest him, according to the report.

The boy suffered severe injuries to his face and was taken to Akron Children's Hospital for treatment.

Hosey was arrested and charged with felonious assault, felony child endangering and domestic violence.
