AKRON, Ohio — A traffic stop in Summit County on Jan. 3 led to the discovery of one pound of meth worth around $40,000 and the arrest of an Akron man.

Richard W. Hayes, 38, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, trafficking in drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The traffic stop occurred on Jan. 3 around 10:36 p.m. on Arlington Street in Akron. Authorities say Hayes was pulled over for an improper lane change violation.
