AKRON, Ohio — JC Penney is closing their Chapel Hill Mall store, according to News 5's media partners at the Akron Beacon Journal.
The location will close April 24 and a liquidation sale will begin Feb. 28.
News of the store's closure comes the same week that Summit County filed a foreclosure complaint against the mall.
According to the county, the owner must pay $753,732.82 in order to stop the foreclosure process. This bill includes what will come owe next month and some back water and sewer bills.
Ohio Edison filed its own lawsuit against the mall for back monies it says its owed.
JC Penney is the last retail anchor store at Chapel Hill Mall.
