Canton police are investigating a crash that sent two girls to the hospital with serious injuries after they were hit by a car Monday afternoon.
Police said the crash happened in the 2500 block of 13th Street Northwest.
The girls, ages 11 and 17, were crossing the street in the middle of the block when they were hit by a car driven by a 57-year-old man, according to police. Officers said both girls attend Canton City Schools.
The girls were taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center and then transferred to Akron Children's Hospital, officials said.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this accident, according to police. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is still ongoing.
