Warrant issued for homeless man accused of attempting to rob Akron bank

AKRON, Ohio — A warrant for robbery has been issued for a homeless man in Akron who is accused of attempting to rob Key Bank, 291 South Main Street, on January 31.

The suspect has been identified as Marcus Derrian Evans, 41, who is known to frequent the downtown area behind the Spaghetti Warehouse and AES building, according to Akron police.

On Jan. 31, he demanded the teller hand over the cash from the drawer, but when she refused, he tried to grab money from another customer, but was unsuccessful.

Evans stands at 5 feet, 10 inches and has black hair and brown eyes.
