Warrant issued for man wanted for allegedly raping woman in her Akron apartment

AKRON, Ohio — A warrant has been issued for an Akron man who allegedly broke into a woman's apartment and raped her, Akron police confirmed.

Jessie Williams II, 33, of Akron, is wanted on two counts of rape, two counts of gross sexual imposition, three counts of kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, tampering and disrupting public service, Akron police said.

Williams forced his way into an Akron apartment on Dec. 3 around 2:30 a.m., according to a report from Akron police.

When he entered the apartment, he robbed the woman and when she tried to call the police, Williams allegedly took her phone.

Williams allegedly raped the woman before fleeing with some of her property, police said.

Police identified Williams as the suspect through DNA and through the victim who identified him.
