AKRON, Ohio — A 24-year-old woman allegedly involved in the robbery of a man she met online in December 2018 is now in custody.

Brittany A. Cook, of Akron, has been charged with felony counts of kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Authorities say the 20-year-old victim agreed to meet with Cook and then traveled to a home in the 40 block of North Arlington Street. When he entered the residence, he was approached by several men who forced him to get back in his car, drive to an ATM and give them money.

After leaving the bank, the victim was able to escape by jumping out of the moving car. The unknown men then drove off in his vehicle, authorities said.

Authorities arrested Cook on an active warrant. The court hasn't determined her next scheduled appearance.
