AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Fire Department is investigating a fire that sent a woman and a police officer to the hospital.
Officials said they received a call about three people trapped in a house fire in the 500 block of Wilson Street.
Two people were assisted out of the house by fire personnel, a third person had to be rescued from a bedroom on the first floor.
The woman was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
An Akron police officer was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
