1 dead, 1 seriously injured after Woodland Avenue crash

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a crash that left one man dead.

The crash happened Friday at 11:15 p.m. on the Interstate 77 northbound ramp from Woodland Avenue.

According to police, a 32-year-old man was driving a Nissan Frontier west on Woodland Avenue when he cut across all lanes of traffic to the left, over the divider, and was struck by a Honda Accord that was entering the I-77 northbound ramp.

The Nissan rolled over and all occupants were ejected, according to police.

Police said the 32-year-old man who was driving the Nissan was transported to Metro Hospital, where he later died.

A 28-year-old man who was a passenger in the Nissan was transported to Metro Hospital with serious injuries.

A 31-year-old man, who was driving the Honda, reported no injuries. A 33-year-old woman, who was a passenger inside the vehicle, reported minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
