CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a shooting in Cleveland’s Corlett neighborhood that left one man dead and three others injured early Friday morning, according to the Cleveland Division of Police.
Around 1:30 a.m., officers were called to the 11900 block of Miles Avenue where they found A 34-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.
The man, later identified as Michael Smith, was transported to University Hospitals where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
During the investigation, police learned that witnesses heard shots fired and multiple people had been struck.
A 21-year-old man was taken to University Hospitals with a gunshot wound to the foot. He was treated and released. A 31-year-old woman was taken to Hillcrest Hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was treated and released, police said. A 23-year-old man was also taken to Hillcrest Hospital. He suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh and was treated and released, according to police.
During the shooting, a 31-year-old woman was inside of her vehicle with her 4-year-old child and 11-month-old child when the vehicle was hit by the gunfire, police said.
The woman and her children were not injured in the shooting, according to police.
No arrests have been made at this time but the incident remains under investigation.
