CLEVELAND — An 18-year-old was shot and killed Monday night in Cleveland's Forest Hills neighborhood, according to the Cleveland Division of Police.

Officers responded to the 11600 block of Hopkins Avenue for a report of a man shot.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, was found in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers performed first aid until EMS took over and transported him to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police said a firearm was located on the victim.

Officers then responded to the 700 block of Thornhill Drive for another shooting victim, a 19-year-old male, who was believed to be involved in the shooting on Hopkins Avenue.

Preliminary information revealed that the victim on Hopkins Avenue and the male shot on Thornhill Drive were allegedly involved in drug activity when an argument started and gunfire was exchanged. The 19-year-old found on Thornhill Drive fled in a vehicle that sustained multiple gunshots.

The 19-year-old was treated and released from University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center before he was booked into the Cuyahoga County Jail, police said.

The homicide remains under investigation.
