11-year-old girl injured in drive-by shooting in Cleveland

An 11-year-old girl was hurt in a drive-by shooting in Cleveland overnight and now police are looking for the gunman.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. in the 3300 block of Seymour Avenue, near Fulton Road. 

A family member told newsnet5.com the girl was asleep in the living room of her home when she was grazed by a bullet. She was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center by private car. 

Witnesses told police that prior to the shooting, an unknown person was banging on the windows of the home. Other witnesses said an older model Cadillac with about four to five men inside drove down the street multiple times before the shooting. 

A family member told police she heard the child scream and then realized she had been shot.

The girl is now out of surgery and in stable condition.
