Police say 13-year-old boy shot and killed mother's fiance for strangling 17-year-old girl

CLEVELAND — A 13-year-old boy is accused of shooting and killing his mother's fiancé.

Police said the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 3500 block of West 48th Street.

The 13-year-old boy, who is not being named, is charged with murder and voluntary manslaughter.

The teen denied the allegations of the complaint through counsel.

According to police, a 33-year-old man reportedly grabbed a 17-year-old girl by her hair and began strangling her.

Police said the 13-year-old boy grabbed a gun from the bedroom and shot the man, who was his mother's fiancé.

When police arrived, they rendered first aid to the victim.

He was transported to Metro Hospital, where he later died.

The 13-year-old boy was arrested by police without incident.
