CLEVELAND — A beloved Buckeye Road business owner is fighting for his life and Crime Stoppers is hoping a reward will help identify the attacker.

Larry Manno has had his landscaping business in the Buckeye neighborhood for 50 years.

“I said somebody is going to hurt you someday, he would say nobody is going to hurt me, I know everybody,” said his wife, Patricia Manno.

Someone did hurt the 74-year-old business owner on Monday, September 16 between noon and about 1 p.m., according to police.

Manno was working inside his building when someone attacked him.

His longtime employee walked in and found him on the floor.

“When she found him, thank God for her, because within a half an hour he would’ve died in his own blood,” said his wife.

Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads police to the attacker.

“This is the type of person Crime Stoppers wants off the street because if he’s willing to do this to a 74-year-old who’s a good guy and known in the neighborhood, can you imagine what he would do to someone in their home,” said Captain Richard McInthosh, Cuyahoga County Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers is anonymous and McIntosh said has never identified a tipster.

Anyone with information is asked to call 216-25CRIME, with any information no matter how insignificant it might be.
