WHEELING, W.VA. — Authorities have arrested two individuals in connection with the homicide of a Cleveland man in Wheeling, West Virginia earlier this week.

Danny Ivan Mendoza, 25, of Maryland has been charged with murder. The second suspect, Mai’ehia Lane-Plater, 22, of Wheeling, West Virginia, has been charged for accessory after the fact of murder, according to the Wheeling Police Department.

Edward Harrison, 25, of Cleveland, was fatally shot on Delaware Street, Wheeling Island, around 4 p.m. Monday, authorities said.

“Once again, I am extremely grateful and pleased with the performance of the men and women of the Wheeling Police Department,” said Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger. “To be filing murder charges in less than 48 hours speaks to the total effort of the initial response, skill and dedication of our detectives.”
