CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating two homicides that happened Friday night.
At around 7 p.m., police responded to East 125th Street and Paxton Road in the city's Forrest Hills neighborhood for a report of a car crash and shots fired, authorities said.
Officers located a 21-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was treated at the scene by police and then transported to a nearby hospital by EMS where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
At around 10:55 p.m., authorities responded to a shooting in the 3600 block of West 49th Street in the city’s Stockyards neighborhood.
After arriving, officers found a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen, police said.
The man was given first aid until EMS arrived. He was then transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Authorities said that the shooting may have happened following an altercation the man had with two other individuals over something drug related.
