CLEVELAND — One person was killed and another hospitalized after a crash left a car mangled around a utility pole on East 55th Street.
The crash happened late Thursday just after 11 p.m. at East 55th Street and Truscon Avenue.
Two female occupants were extricated from the vehicle by the Cleveland Fire Department.
Preliminary information revealed a 20-year-old woman was operating a Mazda 3 in the southbound lane of East 55th Steet, when for reasons unknown, she struck a utility pole.
The driver was pronounced dead and the passenger, a 57-year-old woman, was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where she was treated for a broken arm.
No further information has been released at this time.
