CLEVELAND — Cleveland police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the city’s Lee-Miles neighborhood early Saturday morning.
According to police, the shooting happened around 4 a.m. in the 216000 block of Eldamere Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a report of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, officers located a 22-year-old man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers gave the man first aid until EMS arrived, and he was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the man was involved in an argument with a group of other men and shots were fired. After the shooting, the group then drove off, authorities said.
Sometime later, another man was dropped off at a separate hospital with a gunshot wound. Police said they are working to determine if that person is possibly connected to the shooting on Eldamere Avenue.
No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call detectives at 216-623-5464.
