CLEVELAND — A 27-year-old man was shot and killed while he was sitting in his vehicle in Cleveland’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood Tuesday night.

At about 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the 3500 block of East 110th Street for a call about a male shot, according to a news release from Cleveland police. On arrival, police found the victim in his car and administered first aid until EMS arrived. EMS conveyed the victim to University Hospital where he died from his injuries.

On scene, it was learned that the victim was sitting in his vehicle when an unknown person or persons walked up to the front passenger window and fired multiple shots through the closed window, striking the victim. The shooter or shooters then fled in an unknown vehicle.

Members of the Cleveland Homicide Unit responded to the scene for investigation. The matter remains under investigation as of Wednesday afternoon.

This fatal shooting happened hours before and streets over from another shooting that claimed the life of a 26-year-old man. Two people were shot inside a car that crashed into a building on the corner of 118th Street and Union Avenue Wednesday morning.
