CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a shooting that left a 28-year-old man dead on the city’s East Side Saturday night.
Around 9:15 p.m., officers were in the area of Gooding Avenue and Parkwood Drive when they heard multiple gunshots just south of their location, police said.
Dispatch informed the officers that a man had been shot in the area of East 112th Street and Superior Avenue. Once on scene, officers found a 28-year-old man in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body, according to police.
EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates that the 28-year old man and his friend were involved in an altercation outside of a bar with a group of men when one of the men in the group pulled out a gun and shot the 28-year-old repeatedly, police said.
The shooter and the group of men fled the scene in a vehicle and crashed. The group then fled on foot, according to police.
The shooting remains under investigation.
